Jennifer D. Magyar, CPA
Senior Accounting Manager
Specialty: Taxation, Tax Planning, Accounting & Finance
Jennifer
has over 15 years of experience in taxation, tax planning,
accounting, and finance. She works with closely held businesses and
their owners, not-for-profit entities, business executives, and
individuals. Jennifer presently serves clients in the following
industries: personal services, not-for-profit, manufacturing,
distribution, retail, wholesale, and construction.
Jennifer’s background includes experience as a tax manager with KPMG
LLP, a “Big Four” accounting firm, in Kansas City. Previous to that,
she was the office manager and accountant for UNAVET, Inc., a
veterinary pharmaceutical company.
Jennifer has been involved in numerous initiatives, including:
Co-Chair, KPMG’s Network of Women; Chairperson, KPMG Working Mothers
Group; and KPMG Ethics Committee Member. Jennifer also won the 2008
KPMG Mentoring Award, which recognizes mentors who make a
difference.
Jennifer obtained a Master of Science in Accounting from the
University of Missouri – Kansas City, following her undergraduate
studies, in which she earned a Bachelor of Arts, also from the
University of Missouri – Kansas City.
Jennifer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, and the Missouri Society of Certified Public
Accountants.
Jennifer and Ed, her husband, have two boys.
Jim Twenter
Controller, Client Services Coordinator
Jim
joined the Cornerstone team in January 2005 as the firm’s
Controller. He came to the firm with over 30 years of past working
experience in a wide variety of cost accounting, financial analyst
and financial manager roles. Over 20 years of his past working
career was with Marion Laboratories and its successor companies. At
Cornerstone, Jim is responsible for the firm’s Payroll, Accounts
Payable and Accounts Receivable processing, as well as the General
Ledger reporting for actual and forecasted financial results.
Jim was born and raised in a farming community in central Missouri.
Jim has raised a family and made a home in the Kansas City
metropolitan area with his wife Sarah and their two grown sons,
Grant and Kyle. For fun, Jim enjoys watching many types of spectator
sports, plays in a few of those sports and enjoys landscaping work
in his yard at home.
He has both a BSBA degree in Accounting and Business Administration
from Rockhurst University as well as a MBA in Business
Administration from Webster University.
Sherri
Tyree
Accounting Associate
Sherri
was born in Austin, Texas. When she was 6, Sherri moved to
Brisbane, Australia where she lived until she was 12. She then
moved back to the U.S. and lived in Arizona.
Sherri has two children, Allen and Megan,
both of whom were born in Phoenix, Arizona. Sherri has
loved working in accounting field for many years. She joined
the Kansas Army National Guard in September of 2006, and completed
basic training at the end of April 2007.
She looks forward to serving her country and finishing her education.
Sherri joined the Cornerstone team in March of 2007.
Linda Finkemeier
Administrative Associate
Linda
was born and raised in Syracuse, New York. After returning from
Stratford Women’s College in Tampa, Florida, Linda began her career
at a local CPA/law firm in Syracuse. In 1979, Linda relocated to
Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she worked in the audit department of
Ernst & Young. Seven years later, Linda chose to be a stay at home
mom to her three children. Relocating to Kansas City in 1991 because
of her husband’s job opportunity, Linda spent ten years at home,
until her youngest went off to school. She went back to work, part
time, at a church office, and Applebee’s International in the legal
department, before landing again at a CPA firm. Linda spent eight
years at a small CPA firm in Overland Park,
where she was Office Manager.
Linda came to Cornerstone CPA Services in November of 2005.
Although Linda’s children are nearly grown, they occupy much of her
time and energy. During the few minutes she finds each day, Linda
opens up the gym most mornings to get a good work-out and also
enjoys reading and scrapbooking her children’s lives thus far.
Michael Bunn
Client Services Coordinator for Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, LLC
Michael joined the Cornerstone team in December of 2005. While his
primary focus will be with Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, he will be
working for the Cornerstone CPA and Insurance Advisor firms as well.
Additionally, he serves as the firm's IT Administrator.
Michael grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. He attended the University
of Kansas, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Psychology.
Prior to Cornerstone, Michael was in Natchez, Mississippi where he
managed Natchez Guest House Historic Inn and Garden Court Bistro, in
an antebellum mansion built in 1842. After moving back to Kansas,
Michael worked as a designer and bookkeeper for Absolute Florist of
Westwood Hills.
Michael enjoys reading, acting in local community theater, singing, and playing piano
and guitar with his band.
