Small Construction Business – Financial Reporting As A Management
Tool
A small construction business owner discovered that while he was
great at the technical work of the business, the back office and
financial reporting aspects of the business were holding him back.
Challenge:
Without proper and timely accounting and reporting in place this
small contractor battled reporting to various federal and state
agencies and never had a picture of where the firm was headed.
Solution:
We established a monthly accounting program that allowed the
business to understand its margins and profit. In addition, we
set-up complete payroll, accounts payables, and receivables systems
that allowed the business to run and grow smoothly.
Result:
The firm was able to establish banking relationships required for
growth and determined that buying their current building made
financial sense. The business is able to make decisions based on a
financial management system that produces timely, current and
accurate information.
In effect, we became acting CFO for this successful firm.
